About Me

I’m the founder of the New York City Satanists’ Discussion Group, a.k.a. NYC Satanists, Luciferians, Dark Pagans, and LHP Occultists, one of the very few Satanist groups — in New York City or anywhere else — that holds meetings open to the general public.

I’m also the founder and coordinator of a local political activist group called New Yorkers Against Religion-Based Bigotry, which has a blog here and a Meetup site here. (Please RSVP on the Meetup site if you’re thinking of attending our meetings.)

I’m a theistic Satanist. As for what that means to me personally, see my Creed page here for a simplified intro. For more details, see my Theistic Satanism website. For some of what it does not mean, see Against Satanic Panics.

I’ve been a theistic Satanist since 1991 C.E. I was brought up Christian, rejected Christianity at the age of 15, was then a de facto atheist until my late twenties, at which point I became a Goddess-oriented modern Pagan for several years. I then became a theistic Satanist due to a series of totally unexpected, overwhelming spiritual experiences which I won’t even try to put into words.

In the early-to-mid 1990′s, I had a column in an occult zine Abrasax.

Since late 2002 I’ve had a website on Theistic Satanism, to which I’ve subsequently added several sub-sites including Against Satanic Panics I’ve recently started a blog on Google/Blogger featuring news of interest to theistic Satanists.

These past several years, I’ve been running some local in-person groups that meet here in New York City, including the two groups mentioned earlier (NYC Satanists, Luciferians, Dark Pagans, & LHP Occultists, and New Yorkers Against Religion-Based Bigotry). I aim also to build a New York City proto-congregation of the Church of Azazel.

I occasionally use both this current blog (on WordPress) and my LiveJournal blog for preliminary research on topics which, in more-developed form, may eventually be presented on the NYARBB blog. More often, I use these blogs for general news and commentary on topics relevant to activism against religion-based bigotry, stating my own personal opinions which are not necessarily official NYARBB positions or proposals for same. I also use these blogs to discuss various topics of interest to Satanists, not necessarily related to NYARBB activism.

One of the things I like a lot here at WordPress.com is the tag pages listing all posts, by all WordPress.com users, with a given tag. These pages can be turned into de facto unmoderated forums.

If you would like to post a comment about this blog in general, rather than about any specific post, please post it underneath the post General feedback thread.
