About Me
I’m the founder and coordinator of a local political activist group called New Yorkers Against Religion-Based Bigotry, which has a blog here and a Meetup site here. (Please RSVP on the Meetup site if you’re thinking of attending our meetings.)
As of March 2009, I’ve found a very passionate assistant organizer for NYARBB. So, hopefully we will now succeed in actually getting it off the ground. (I made a few unsuccessful previous attempts. I’m not able to do this on my own, alas.)
I’ll use this current blog, my personal WordPress blog, as a place to divert discussions from the NYARBB blog that are not appropriate to that blog, e.g. debates about religion. I’ll also use both this current blog and my LiveJournal blog for preliminary research on topics which, in more-developed form, may eventually be presented on the NYARBB blog. I’ll also use these blogs for general news and commentary on topics relevant to NYARBB, stating my own personal opinions as distinct from official NYARBB positions or proposals for same.
As a general rule, starting in May 2008, the division of labor between my LiveJournal blog and this blog here on WordPress will be as follows: Responses to posts on other blogs on either WordPress.com or LiveJournal.com will be posted on the same blog host as the original. Otherwise, relatively lengthy original commentary will be posted here on my WordPress blog, whereas my LiveJournal blog will feature collections of news items and brief commentary.
I myself am a theistic Satanist. As for what that means to me personally, see my Creed page here for a simplified intro. For more details, see my Theistic Satanism website. For some of what it does not mean, see Against Satanic Panics.
I’ve been a theistic Satanist since 1991 C.E. I was brought up Christian, rejected Christianity at the age of 15, was then a de facto atheist until my late twenties, at which point I became a Goddess-oriented modern Pagan for several years. I then became a theistic Satanist due to a series of totally unexpected, overwhelming spiritual experiences which I won’t even try to put into words.
In the early-to-mid 1990’s, I had a column in an occult zine Abrasax.
Since late 2002 I’ve had a website on Theistic Satanism, to which I’ve subsequently added several sub-sites including Against Satanic Panics I’ve recently started a blog on Google/Blogger featuring news of interest to theistic Satanists. I also run a local in-person group that meet here in New York City, NYC Satanists, Luciferians, Dark Pagans, and LHP Occultists.
One of the things I like a lot here at WordPress.com is the tag pages listing all posts, by all WordPress.com users, with a given tag. These pages can be turned into de facto unmoderated forums.
If you would like to post a comment about this blog in general, rather than about any specific post, please post it underneath the post General feedback thread.
